New Year, New Plans

January 25, 2012 In observatory

2012 + 2013 are ushering in a new era. The way people communication, do business and interact is all changing. In part, this is because of advances in technology and the internet. Another part of this paradigm shift is a new generation of people who have open minds about how things should be done. The old blueprints are being thrown out, and new ideas are being formed every day.

With these changes we have seen the need to change our business and our focus going forwards. Ways that we are changing are the following:

Mobile Design & Development

Some of the biggest changes in how we commuicate are directly related to an increase in Mobile computers & phones. Currently, over 70% of the worlds population now has a mobile phone, which means 5 billion mobile subscribers or 9 out of 10 people in the U.S. What does this mean for you and your business? It means that you have an entirely new way to communicate with your clients and customers. With the huge growth in this industry, our company is shifting towards doing more mobile and tablet development in 2012.

HTML5 & CSS3 Integration

The benefits of using HTML5 and CSS3 are clear – better applications, online video, effects and processing power. HTML5 is the natural progression of HTML4/XHTML 1.0 – with many built in features such as native browser support for video playback. CSS3 is a major upgrade which allows for effects and animations that were previously only possible using Flash or Photoshop. Our company is quickly adapting to these technologies and using them where possible.

WordPress Websites

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. WordPress continues to be our platform of choice. With millions of users and a core group of developers who contribute to the code base, WordPress is a solid platform for any website.

2013 will surely bring many more changes – but these are just a few of the things that have greatly influenced our company and our plans going forward. In addition, our company recently moved into a new office location, which promises to help us continue to grow our business.
